Founded in 1996, the Dietrick Institute for Applied Insect Ecology (DI) is a leading organization offering training opportunities in ecologicallybased pest management.
We are committed to helping people learn practical strategies to benefit from biodiversity in soil and aerial food webs. The DI works with farmers and others (including agricultural educators) to observe and manage habitats so that beneficial organisms take care of pests and diseases.
Our Values
We believe that agriculture is central to any successful human economy. Strong sustainable communities are the context, diversity the strength, interconnectedness the perspective, and teaching is most valuable service we can offer. Consultation with women and men in equal partnership at all levels helps us understand problems, find solutions, and act responsibly for future generations.
